Grail Cooperation

What do we mean by the term “Grail?”

For us, the term “Grail” means turbocharged charitable cooperation. Turbocharged fundraising events; delivery of program services; and administrative services to lower organizational costs! And turbocharged anything else! Let’s work together to waste nothing. And let’s leave no charitable nickel or dime on the table. Because divided effort means less effective effort.

The term Grail actually means more than turbocharged charitable cooperation. The term “Grail” also describes certain cooperative businesses.  These co-ops actively partner to deliver “Grail” benefits. Some of these Grail Cooperatives will be existing firms. For those, the term “Grail” may be found in how the firm describes itself. Others are intentionally created. Those cooperatives may have the term “Grail” in their names. These co-ops actively shepherd the demand for quality goods and services. Shepherded to deliver maximum “Grail” benefits. Most of these co-ops will have profiles here on this site.

Cooperatively delivered products!

This concept is more than just about charitable cooperation. In the works are a number of craft products. Grail co-op produced craft products.  Products delivering Grail benefits effortlessly. There is high demand these days for local craft products. Such products can also carry strong margins. Margins to be used for positive community impact. The key for us is that demand may exist without the need to spend on marketing. Coordinating the efforts of multiple charitable and other non-profit organizations can reveal that demand. And once revealed, that demand can be directed.

And services!

Also in the works are services. These are services widely used by average people. Some of these offering will be for professional services. While presenting tremendous opportunities, we need to consider a challenge. Because so many folks buy professional services from those considered “trusted” advisors. Thus, they may be reluctant to consider this alternative. However, dozens of firms locally have the same or a superior level of “true” expertise. But why pay for expertise when it is not needed? Unnecessary waste comes from overpaying for nonprofessional support services. Further, lost economic benefits arise from the payment of the referral fees so common outside of co-ops.

Better quality of services are also on tap! This stems from important differences between co-ops and traditional (investor owned) service providers. For example, the capabilities of the in-house staff limits the traditional provider. Co-ops are built to efficiently perform routine functions.  Thus, the best expert can be consulted only when needed. Further, co-ops shield against incentives that can run contrary to the customer’s. As the saying goes, “to a hammer everything appears to be a nail.” This type of conflict can lead to the wrong result even with well intentioned service providers. However, a co-op can work to prevent even intentional wrong doing.

Again, welcome! Let’s cooperate!
